SERIES3-NER HA LAYLA

Ner Ha Layla Series - A Journey of Inner Guidance

The Ner Ha Layla (נר הלילה) series is deeply inspired by a delicate flower from my childhood, which served as a guide, marking the path home after evenings spent by the beach with my mom. Through poignant scenes featuring girls, swans, and horses, the series delves into moments of contemplation and forward movement, with the flower symbolizing inner guidance.

These works serve as breadcrumbs leading back to the self, representing the journey of reconnecting with one’s true essence. Rather than focusing on a specific destination, this series explores the emotional voyage of finding our way home—not to a physical place, but to our deepest and truest self.

Description:
The Metamorphosis series delves into the transformative journeys that we undergo as individuals. The concept of change—both internal and external—is explored through figures in motion, often caught between two states of being, symbolizing the psychological, emotional, and spiritual shifts we experience throughout life.

In "Metamorphosis," the figure of a young girl is caught in a moment of transition. Her form is captured as a delicate blend of shadow and light, as though she is emerging from one reality into another. The swirling colors that surround her suggest fluidity, while her body, still yet tender, reveals the tenderness of growth and transformation.

The piece speaks to the ever-changing nature of identity, growth, and renewal. Through its dark background and soft, ethereal tones, the painting conveys the fragile beauty of metamorphosis. The girl’s posture—her delicate figure transitioning from light to dark—shows that even in our darkest moments, we are evolving.

Story:
This painting symbolizes the moment when one phase ends and another begins. The figure of the girl embodies the quiet yet profound changes that occur within us, often unseen to the outside world. The interplay between light and shadow, the softness of her outline, and the vivid colors allude to the transformative power of vulnerability. It is a visual metaphor for growth—showing that even when we feel the most uncertain or incomplete, we are in fact continuously morphing into a new version of ourselves.

Title: Silent Presence
Size: 80 x 120 cm

Description:

Silent Presence is an exploration of the intersection between nature and human emotion. The luminous, almost dream-like depiction of the horse amidst vibrant and ethereal surroundings creates a sense of surreal tranquility. The horse, standing steadfast in the foreground, symbolizes strength, grace, and the quiet resilience that exists even in moments of solitude or isolation.

The blending of colors—especially the cool blues and neon tones—evokes a surreal atmosphere, where the lines between the natural world and emotional expression blur. The horse’s silhouette is almost ghostly, a reflection of the delicate balance between presence and absence, and the nature of our inner worlds.

The colorful drips that cascade down the canvas, blending into the environment, serve as a metaphor for the fluidity of our thoughts, emotions, and personal growth. The horse, though silent, emanates a deep presence, symbolizing how much is felt and conveyed without words. Title: "In the Fields of Silence"

Size: 120 x 90 cm
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Year: 2025

Description:
"In the Fields of Silence" captures a poignant moment of quiet reflection and labor amidst a backdrop of serene, yet chaotic nature. The piece portrays two young girls, their heads bowed in concentration as they tend to their work in a sprawling field. Their traditional attire contrasts with the wild, almost surreal, colors of the background, which blend into the vivid tones of a fiery horizon. The juxtaposition of the calm figures with the tumultuous landscape symbolizes the strength found in stillness amidst turmoil.

The girls' white headbands, worn in a traditional style, serve as symbols of resilience and continuity. Their bond, unspoken yet evident, speaks to shared experiences of hardship, beauty, and the constant cycle of life. The natural world, lush with color, envelops them, blurring the lines between the earth and the people who tend it.
